Collier Reading were appointed to obtain planning permission and approval under the Building Regulations to allow the conversion of a redundant floor in Colston Tower in the centre of Bristol.
The proposal included a single storey extension on the podium level of Colston Tower, and for the change of use of the existing structure from office space to a bar/restaurant. The site benefitted from a split level external terrace which wraps around 3 sides of the internal space.
The new external walls were constructed from a lightweight framework, yet still possess a high insulative value.
The glazed extension provides additional internal floor space which overlooks the centre of Bristol, and creates a new link to the external seating areas.
The works have been completed to a high standard, and utilises a range of contemporary materials and finishes to create a bar/restaurant suitable for a range of demographics.
